Required Continuing Education (CE) Trainings
Per the Illinois Administrative Code, respiratory care professionals must complete the following training requirements as part of license renewal. These apply to all DPR-licensed professions unless otherwise noted.

24 Continuing Education (CE) Credits
- Must be earned during each 2-year renewal cycle
- Credits must be from approved providers and meet DPR standards

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
- 1 hour every renewal cycle
- Courses used to meet an employer’s requirement are acceptable

Implicit Bias Awareness Training
- 1 hour every renewal cycle
- Courses must be from approved providers

Cultural Competency Training
- 1 hour every 6 years
- Courses must be from approved providers

Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias Training
- 1 hour every 6 years
- Required only for licensees working with patients age 26 and older
- Courses must be from approved providers
