ISRC Wins Bill Bitzel Award

🏆 ISRC Launches NextGen RT: Illinois Edition with National Recognition

The Illinois Society for Respiratory Care (ISRC) is proud to launch a new statewide student engagement initiative recognized by the AARC’s Bill Bitzel Memorial Fund:
NextGen RT: Illinois Edition.

This innovative, virtual series is designed to connect, inspire, and support respiratory therapy students and new professionals across all 15 accredited Illinois RT programs. Launching Fall 2025, the program features monthly interactive sessions—including case discussions, peer reflections, and ethical dilemmas—that help students grow in clinical confidence, leadership identity, and lifelong professional engagement.

🕕 You can tune into the NextGen series on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM. All sessions are free, virtual, and open to RT students and early-career professionals statewide.

This initiative honors Bill Bitzel’s legacy by building the bridge between student success and active AARC membership, with the long-term goal of cultivating future leaders and advancing the profession toward APRT licensure in Illinois.
