Date: 10.28.25
My name is Joseph Roy. I’m a doctoral student at Grand Canyon University, working with Dr. Susan Steele-Moses. I’m doing a research study to learn how different leadership styles might affect respiratory therapists’ plans to stay or leave their jobs.
INCLUSION- I am recruiting individuals that meet these criteria:
- Are 18 years old or older.
- Work full-time as a respiratory therapist in a U.S. hospital.
- Have worked at your current job for at least 9 months.
- Are okay with answering questions about age, gender, work status, education, where you work, and your experience.
EXCLUSION- You cannot be in this study if:
- Are under 18 years old.
- Do not work in a U.S. hospital.
- Are not full-time at your job.
- Have worked at your current job for less than 9 months.
The ACTIVITIES for this research project will include:
- Complete a short survey that asks questions about age, gender, employment status, educational level, the type of organization you work for, years of experience as a respiratory therapist, and years of experience at your current job (5 minutes)
- Complete two surveys
- The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5X) (10–12 minutes).
- The Turnover Intention Scale (TIS-6) (3–5 minutes).
- Estimated total time: 20 minutes.
Being in the study is up to you. When you complete the survey you can enter into a drawing for one of five $20 electronic gift cards. Your email address will not connected to your answers. Winners will be contacted by email once all of the surveys are finished.
All data in this study will be protected on a password protected computer, password protected external drive, and in a secure folder on the doctoral portal at GCU.
